Tigre UANL defeats LAFC to take Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Cup 2-1
ORLANDO, FL – Tigre UANL from Mexico defeated LAFC from the MLS 2-1 in the final of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champion League Final at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, FL.
In a match were there were 40 fouls and no cards issued, the two teams battled for the cup from the tournament, which was a continuation of the tournament, started in March 2020, but was stopped due to COVIN-19.
In the 61st minute, LA’s Diego Rossi tapped a cross from Mark Anthony-Kaye for the opening score of the match.
Tigre followed with goal by Hugo Ayala in the 72’nd minute. In the 84th minute, André-Pierre Gignac put in the final goal.
LAFC was trying to become the first MLS club to win the cup, but came up shore ad appeared to run out of energy towards the end of the match.
